Elected "The best road to drive"

In 2015, the "Avis" rent-a-car company, together with industry experts, created a new unit to measure the driving experience a road provides. After this process, one road emerged as the best in the world: EN222 in Portugal.

A wonderful landscape

With over 225 km long, EN222 runs parallel to the World Heritage Site of the Douro river, ranging from Vila Nova de Gaia to Vila Nova de Foz Côa.

Classified as UNESCO World Heritage, this sight is truly a wonder to behold. See the fantastic vineyards that cover the steep valley where the world famous Port Wine grows.
